In what form does Kentucky Performance Products ADR™ come?

Kentucky Performance Products ADR™ is available in 30g syringes (paste) and 2.2 and 9.0 Kilo Tubs (powder).

Can Kentucky Performance Products Neigh-Lox® and Kentucky Performance Products ADR™ be used together in a maintenance program?

Yes, the equine supplements can be used together or individually.

When do I use Kentucky Performance Products ADR™ Paste, and when do I use Kentucky Performance Products ADR™ Powder?

Kentucky Performance Products ADR™ Paste is intended for young foals and horses that cannot or will not eat grain. Kentucky Performance Products ADR™ Paste is also helpful in situations when delivery of the product into the gastrointestinal system must be guaranteed. Kentucky Performance Products ADR™ Powder is top-dressed onto a grain meal and fed as part of a daily maintenance program.

Why is the maintenance dose for Kentucky Performance Products ADR™ Paste 30g and for the Kentucky Performance Products ADR™ Powder 25g?

The total amount of Kentucky Performance Products ADR™ Paste in a tube is 30g, 25g of Kentucky Performance Products ADR™ Powder mixed with 5g of a carrier. Therefore, both have the same concentration of active ingredients.

How many CFU (colony forming units) does Kentucky Performance Products ADR™ have? Is this more than other probiotics?

Kentucky Performance Products ADR™ Paste and Powder have nine trillion CFU. This represents about twice as much as some other leading brands.

Is it dangerous to have too many CFU of yeast ?

No. If the horse does not use the yeast, it is passed out with the feces.

A chief function of the hindgut is the fermentation of forages, which ensures horses have sufficient energy to fuel growth and exercise. Fermentation, however, is dependent upon a robust population of beneficial microorganisms. Stress, disease, and other factors are sometimes detrimental to the vitality of this microorganism population. As the hindgut becomes depopulated of microorganisms and fermentation slows, the digestive and absorptive capacity of the hindgut decreases and appetite becomes less vigorous. The ingredients in Kentucky Performance Products ADR™ provide a unique blend of direct-fed microbials, yeast cultures, and yeast extracts which support normal hindgut health.ADR blends probiotics and yeast extracts in a safe and powerful formula suitable for all horses. Using three key ingredients, ADR features a multiprong approach to digestive health. The ingredients work synergistically to keep the gastrointestinal tract healthy enough to ward off challenges by pathogenic bacteria that most commonly affect the equine population.

ADR was developed by EquiVision, Inc.

Dr. Bill Vandergrift is an equine nutrition specialist with a lifetime of work to his credit. After earning his Ph.D. in animal nutrition from Texas A&M University in 1980, Vandergrift held a professorship at the University of Georgia, where he taught both undergraduate and graduate nutrition and management courses. He left academia to work as director of equine nutrition for both regional and national feed companies. In 1992, he formed a nutrition consulting company for breeders, trainers, riders, and feed manufacturers. In working with these horsemen, Vandergrift discovered a need for specialized supplements that were unavailable in the marketplace. Since he formed his company, EquiVision, Inc., Vandergrift has formulated several custom-made equine supplements for clients in every corner of the world including Australia, Japan, England, South Africa, Ireland, Canada and Germany. In 2005, he forged a relationship with Kentucky Performance Products to increase the exposure of products he developed in the marketplace.
